The officer from the Department of Temporal Investigations shook his head.
"You were saying you were just..."
"...Playing poker, yes. We have a regular weekly poker game, and we decided to spice it up a bit and play on the Holodeck in a casino setting. We didn't really pay attention to the other tables until we attempted to contact the computer to modify the program and weren't able to get a response."
The officer looked at the PADD in his hands.
"From what we were able to determine, there was a massive crossing of multiple timelines with great potential for contamination, and all you did was play poker?
"Yes. We are all very much aware of the dangers in dealing with these sorts of temporal anomalies. Once we had worked out what was going on, and had determined that there was nothing we could do about the circumstances it was decided that the best response was to ignore the issue and just play. That way there can be no harm to any of the timelines involved."
"And you didn't think it unusual that this sort of thing happened?"
He shrugged.
"We just blamed Q and moved on."
The Temporal Investigations officer conducting the interview looked at his companion.
"Makes sense to me."
